Pink, White and Blue

Zachary Boyd, the E-4 who took on the Taliban in pink boxers, had a safe Independence Day at home. I had a feeling he was from Texas. Welcome back to his unit.

I remember getting bitched at by our brigade commander for not wearing gloves during a three mile hike under an Iraqi summer sun. I'm glad to see he didn't get in trouble for being a bad ass.

If pink boxers make y'all laugh and keep your spirits up, I'd send a box full!

That picture of all the bristling weapons on your masthead is hilarious.

Speaking of Texas, I just watched that movie "Stop-loss", have you seen it?

I never wore gloves unless it was cold...but I had them handy.
Our Batt Sergeant Major wouldn't let us wear the DCU Bonnie hat (in 2005 we still had the great DCUs)
He thought they looked too rough or something...he said: "I have to come up with a policy..."
I told him my delicate Irish skin would get sunburned and I felt he was not taking care of the Irish and I felt an E.O. complaint coming on. (He was African American)....
...then some office poge found that there was actually an Army Reg for the wearing of the boonie hat. and my Irish ass was saved.
I have yet to meet a SGM who was worth a shit...
and I don't care what color underpants a solider has as long as they show up to the fight.

Willard,

Yeah, it sucked and was full of typical Hollywood BS about PTSD. Not to mention finding out about stop loss when you're signing out of post. Everyone I know figured it out months before.
